went away after the civil rights movement, and now no one wants to talk
about it.” - jennifer osha, my geography professor
it really hasnt gone away. there are still people, ever non white american, including muslims who face racism every day.
i was shocked to find out the last summer that it really hasnt gone away.
i believe the concept of race is wrong
yes the europeans enforced it on us, but just can’t we look past that
i also believe that it weakens the human race because we are too busy fighting and blaming each other to see other real problems in the world today
there are so many other problems in the world than what color the other person’s skin is.
scientist say that theres a 0.02% difference in all of humans.
racism is something that is taught. we can think about how we teach acceptance.
“think about children in this country who have a white parent and a black parent (like obama),yet this country says that they are “black”. what does that mean? what happened to the white parent?”
ok just because you have an african american father and a white mother doesnt mean you are african american. it means you are mixed. the people in society today would disgree and disgard them as african american.
“the kkk doesn’t like anyone who isn’t white, sexist, and protestant”
We are born with characteristics that makes us all different… we can choose to acknowledge them or not…
We are all human beings… in the eyes of God, we are all the same
We are all one human race…. one species
We try to catergorize the human race into what we call “races”
That’s what creatures with higher intelligence do… they devise plans to catergorize themselves
We shouldn’t try to catergorize ourselves, even though we are all different
We should celebrate our differences, not try to use the differences against us
Like someone on youtube said, we use the concept of race for our survival, we tend to catorgize ourselves because we feel more comfortable our people who are like us.
The concept of race is a social thing. The europeans enforced the concept of race on the people.
Theres no gene that says you are african american, or asian or white or even hispanic.
If u analyzed what makes a hispanic a hispanic, u will find out that they either speak spanish, or if not they are from spanish america… that has nothing to do with what u look like or anyhting like that…
Its not racism if u look at someone that is very different from you and hate them because they are different, and not taking the time to get to know them. its called being superificial.
We need to look past our differences. And again, we need to celebrate our differences and not use those differences against us.
